SGi’s company charity, Wooden Spoon, welcomed its patron, HRH The Princess Royal, to Nottingham to open a new tyre fitting bay at the Wheelbase Motor Project in the city centre.
Wooden Spoon donated £8,000 to Wheelbase, a charity that helps teenagers who’ve struggled at school or turned to crime. SGi’s Gary Pearce, Regional Treasurer for Wooden Spoon said: “We were pleased to give this donation to a charity that helps young people to turn their lives around before its too late. And we managed to get our joiners to contribute – they made a special wooden spoon for the occasion, complete with curtains for Princess Anne to draw back.”
Mick Clifford, Manager at Wheelbase, added: “It’s a tremendous honour to have such a generous donation from Wooden Spoon. We can now offer job specific training that can change lives.”
